Job Description Dream Right-Hand Person

My dream right-hand-person’s work ethic would remind me of the family in India that I saw on a documentary. This family owns a laundry service, and all members of the family (even the children) start work before 5am and work until after 11pm all 7 days each week, year after year. They do this because they want to survive and have food on the table. They also remind me of immigrants that come to a country penniless and not knowing the language and are able to work 16-hour days, learn the language and build a successful business. (My dream person is not one of the 95% of us that resolve to be this type of person but feels entitled to 8-hour days & $50k pickup trucks – my dream person IS this person) in actuality, my person will not have to work long hours and will make good money.

My dream right-hand-person has a personality that is incredible & loves articulately visiting with people, but does not talk so much as to be annoying or overbearing. They are physically attractive and charismatic. They know how to close sales and how to treat every person they meet in a manner that will make them life-long loyal customers. They stop for the lady with a flat tire and they pay for the guy at the coffee counter’s drink when they see that he has means but forgot his wallet. They are eager to approach scowling strangers and turn their day around while selling the person a windshield repair or at least being memorable enough to prepare the person to use our service in the future. Somehow, amazingly, my person remembers names and faces better than most. My dream person is a walking example of Guerrilla Marketing and High Trust Selling. (Great books!)

My dream right-hand-person has incredible attention to detail, and demands of themselves complete perfection in craftsmanship, paperwork, professional appearance and timeliness. My person “rides for the brand” and is 100% loyal & honest. S/he will invest $5 of their own money today if it is likely to make the company $100 in ten years. My dream person does not walk by a piece of trash without picking it up & throwing it away and always has a smile and/or appropriate-hug for those they meet, both strangers and friends.

My person uses common sense and bases decisions on reason, logic and kindness. S/he is able to make decisions with minimal supervision and even when these decisions turn out to be wrong, s/he owns them and uses them to improve in the future. All decisions made are pretty good ones based on the information available, and even if they don’t pan out, are reasonable in hindsight. My person is capable of taking measured risks and can find a way to work thru any challenge. My person is their own person, and takes personal responsibility and knows that someday, in weeks, months or years our relationship will end, perhaps pleasantly and perhaps not. As with their other bosses, spouses, friends and partners, they will maintain a calm, cool and civil relationship with me when we part ways, never unnecessarily speaking ill of me or my company. If my person and I are bitter enemies 5 years from now and a client hands them some cash for an old debt to my company, I expect that they would mail it to me and never even consider the possibility of keeping it for themselves.

My dream right-hand-person has a good reputation in their community and is not known as a boozer, wife-beater, child-molester or jerk. Additionally, they ARE NOT any of these. S/he has a reasonably visually respectable vehicle that is insured and will use it for work purposes. S/he has and will maintain a valid government driver’s license and will not violate any reasonable laws and will drive in a polite manner.

Educational requirements:
No scholastic requirements.
Must be literate, articulate and know basic addition and multiplication.
Should have email access, a computer and some basic understanding of computers.

Compensation:
You will receive a percentage of the sales you make / work you perform. A day’s hard & creative work could earn you as much as $500, but a day in which you don’t produce will leave you penniless. If you are a hard worker that meets my dream person’s description, $150 to $400 for a 7 to 10 hour day is very reasonable to anticipate. You may work as little as 8 days per month or as many as 31 … how hungry are you? :)

What can my dream right-hand person expect from me?
• I will treat you with the respect you earn.
• Most of our communication will be via email & text messaging.
• Your schedule will be very flexible with days off & starting and ending times up to you.
• I will lay out my expectations and I will not micro-manage you as long as you are performing well.
• I will give you feedback for improvement and will reward a job well done.
• I will pay you well for a service that is needed, respectable & challenging.
• I will do all that I can to make sure you are as safe as possible.
• I will be reasonable and will support you in your reasonable decisions.
• I will be fair & consistent.
• I will support your dreams of making our relationship more rewarding for both of us.
• I will help you with our mutually beneficial growth … if you are earning $1 million a year from me I will probably be making a better profit than if you are making $5k a year.
• Your work environment will be primarily outdoors with 5 to 20 jobs performed each day with as many sales calls as needed to secure these jobs.
• You may for the most part choose where to work, Dubois, Jackson Hole, Star Valley, Teton Valley or elsewhere…

Application process:
Step 1: Are you POSITIVE that you can & will actively do door-to-door cold call sales and marketing? Is the above description an accurate description of you and do you intend to live in our area for many years to come? If YES, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Email me at 7337056@gmail.com to schedule a “ride-a-long” for 1 to 2 hours. The purpose of this ride-a-long is for me to describe the position to you and let you experience what the job entails. This will help us both decide if we are right for each other and if the opportunity is right for you.
Step 3: I collect references from you & check them out as well as the references from other applicants.
Step 4: If you are selected, you will complete a training process. You may either pay your own expenses on your own time to attend an out-of-state school for a week at about $3500 plus expenses, or I will train you here in Jackson for free. You can anticipate 40 hours of training that neither of us pays the other for.
Step 5: You get to work having fun & making money! :)
